ABOUT SAIL PURRFECTION
About Sail Purrfection
Purrfection sailed to the US Virgin Islands from Florida but she was originally built and owned by a nice sea-loving couple from Ohio. She sailed in charter until the owners sold her to her current owner, Ray Kremer, also from Ohio. Ray is a software developer, music junkie and avid sailor, with many Caribbean sailing miles in his log book. (He’s also the creator of Purrfection’s Purrfect Rum Punch!)
Purrfection can host up to 12 people on day sails around St Thomas, St John and Water Island, or up to 6 people for overnight sails [hyperlink to overnight sails] to the British Virgin Islands, Anegada or Puerto Rico.
Purrfection is big and comfy, with all kinds of lounging space on deck, in the cockpit and in the salon. She boasts two big coolers for all the drinks you want to bring aboard, a full-size galley fridge, ice, snacks, beach towels, water toys and a killer playlist if you don’t have your own.
For overnight guests, Purrfection has spacious cabins with queen beds, all-cotton linens and private bathrooms with electric flush toilets.
Overnight guests also enjoy gourmet-inspired meals prepared by Purrfection’s chef-mate and tailored to your fave foods and dietary requirements.

Purrfection is a 1995 Privilege 50, designed by the talented Marc Lombard and built by renowned yacht builder Philippe Jeantot/Jeantot Marine.
She was purchased in 2017 by Ray and refitted for chartering in the US and British Virgin Islands.
Purrfection is big, comfortable, sturdy, stable and most of all, FUN! Once you’ve spent a day island hopping on Purrfection, you’ll be spoiled for life. (And don’t you deserve to be spoiled).
Meet the Mates
S/V Purrfection Captain Ray
Ray Kremer is Purrfection’s owner-operator and one heck of a nice guy. Originally from Dayton, Ohio, Ray spent his adult life raising his kids and working in custom software development, which he still does.
With his kids grown and out of the nest, Ray decided to pursue his dream of sailing the Caribbean and purchased Purrfection after an exhaustive search for the ideal blue water sailing catamaran.
After three years of refitting Purrfection with modern upgrades, new sails, rigging and mechanicals, Ray sailed her over to St Thomas to have some fun with water-loving locals and tourists.
Ray is an avid music buff, lover of Caribbean rum and capable mariner, focused on safety and fun.
Purrfection’s mate, Melisa Kirby, is also an Ohio native. It’s by sheer coincidence that she and Ray met in their separate but similar pursuits to semi-retire in paradise.
In her corporate life, Melisa is a business writer and personal chef, working on boats and villas in the US Virgin Islands since 2014.
Aboard Purrfection, Melisa is your go-to for drinks, snacks, gear, questions, help and anything else you need to have the best day of your vacation.
